Cascade Lakes Brewing Co | The Lodge

Cascade Lakes Brewing Co | The Lodge

Cascade Lakes Brewing Company was founded in 1994 by three enthusiastic brothers looking for an exciting business in beautiful, sunny Central Oregon. They spent many long nights building brewing equipment by hand and coming up with tasty recipes. More than twenty years later, the long nights and quest for great beer has continued, but on a much larger scale.

In the winter of 2000, Cascade Lakes Brewing Company was purchased by Rick Orazetti and Doug Kutella. Ron Kutella and Chris Justema soon joined the partnership. What started as a small brewing facility in an airport industrial zone has turned into a state-of-the-art, 25-barrel brew house system that allows brewing 775 gallons per batch, three times daily. The partners also expanded from just a brewery to having four local pubs: 7th Street Brew House, Tumalo Tavern, Cascade West Grub and Alehouse, and our flagship restaurant in Bend, Cascade Lakes Lodge. Cascade Lakes beer is now distributed and sold in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and California.

Oblivion Brewing Co

Oblivion Brewing Co

The story of Oblivion Brewing begins in Walnut Creek, CA. Darin Butschy started homebrewing in high school, and like most brewers, was immediately hooked. In 1987, at the age of 17, he was washing kegs at Devil Mountain Brewing Company. There, he apprenticed under Brewmaster Jim DeBoer (now at Samuel Adams), learning the craft of production brewing. In 1989 Darin became the head brewer at SLO Brew in San Louis Obispo, CA, under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Hoffman. Wanting to know more, Darin started attending California Polytechnic State University to study chemistry while working at the brewery. Eventually, SLO Brew evolved into Firestone Walker, and Darin worked at Firestone for another year and half. He completed his degree in chemistry in 1994, packed his bags, and moved to Bend, OR.

Bridge 99 Brewery

Bridge 99 Brewery

Two friends, Trever Hawman and Rod Kramer, decided to turn in their carpenters belts and follow their passion by starting a small batch brewery using eco-friendly methods and the freshest, local ingredients. What started out as a hobby, quickly grew into a full-blown obsession for crafting fresh, "more drinkable" microbeer. The positive response and overwhelming demand for their brews pushed them to expand into their new facility and tasting room at 63063 Layton Avenue, Bend, Oregon.

Keeping it local, staying humble and using sustainable practices to create the best tasting beer are the priorities at Bridge 99 Brewery. It starts with using fresh , local hops from Tumalo Hop Company in Central Oregon. After the brewing process, spent grain, hops and yeast are sent to a local ostrich rancher rather than going into the landfill. Also, rather than sending grain wastewater down the drain and into our rivers, it is collected in large totes and used as nutrient-rich fertilizer on a local farm.

Where did the name Bridge 99 Brewery come from? Wanting to build a brand around something unique to the region, along with "99 bottles of beer on the wall" singing in their heads, the two set out to find a name. The search was over almost as quickly as it began when they remembered a local US Forest Service landmark, Lower Bridge - also referred to as "Bridge 99" - that crosses the Metolius River near Camp Sherman, Oregon.

Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House

Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House

Our original Public House has been a vibrant fixture of the downtown Bend, Oregon scene since 1988. Not only were our very first beers brewed here think Black Butte Porter and Jubelale but we quickly became a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. While the beer speaks for itself through a total of 19 taps, our chefs also put the same quality and hand-crafted excellence into the cuisine. Our beer-centric menu features fresh ingredients, many sourced from local farmers, foragers and ranchers with whom the team has built strong relationships over the years. Most menu items are hand-crafted from scratch whenever possible, and several items are made with spent grain from the brewing process. Come visit us at Bends original brew pub and see where it all began.
